Getting a visa.

Getting a visa is annoying. I don't know about obtaining one for other countries, but the french consulate seems to be just very annoying when it comes to logistically doing things (the appointment booking section of their website had a glitch when I booked my appointment so now everyone is asked to send in their documents). ALL documents - including original passport - have to be send via mail. I'm more than just a little worried they may get lost/letter bombed with just over one month before I leave.
But, the most annoying thing is getting everything together to send away. I have to prove I'm me. I have to prove I have enough money. I have to prove I have somewhere to live. I have to prove I'm actually part of a legitimate program. Probably all very important proofs I have to provide, but still annoying nonetheless.
Once all of the paperwork is sent off, I'm almost ready to get on the plane. I need to sort out what to take for the year and what I can just buy over there/isn't imperative to surviving. And I need to have final doctors, dentists and hair dressers appointments and pick up some last minute medications and then I'm almost all good.
But anxiety levels are definetely picking up. Hopefully they won't result in me lying on the floor of the aeroplane in the foetal position.
