Day Fourteen. Edinburgh.

Today was spent doing our own thing around Edinburgh. I started the morning catching the bus in and hopping off when I saw a good photo opp of the castle. I didn't really know where I was, so I wondered around for a bit and then walked to the gallery for a bit of a gander of some of the art there. It was mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries, including some Raphael, Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, Degas, etc. It was a morning well spent just relaxing and browsing.
I then headed to the National Museum of Scotland. This was an awesome place. As I was walking in a free fringe festival act was just starting in the main hall. They were a percussion group called Aurora Percussion Duo. They were awesome! Pretty experimental, but mainly dealt with drumming and using the stuff around then. It got a bit weird when they were hitting the air around them and we had to imagine the sounds, but it was all good. The museum was packed with all sorts of interesting stuff. Even Dolly the sheep was there!
After, I walked the royal mile and saw Holyrood Castle at the other end to Edinburgh Castle, which is an official residence of the queen when she's in Scotland. She stays there for one week a year.
I then headed back to the hotel for an included dinner.
The city is amazing, I could definitely live here!
