Day Fifteen. St. Andrew's.

This morning was another early morning as we headed to St. Andrew's. The original home of golf, and where Kate and Wills went to uni and met. The town was quite small, especially as it was uni holidays so most of the students weren't in town. The cathedral was massive! In ruins though. Then along the coast, you come to the old castle, which is again in ruins. I then cut back from the coast and walked along the main street, and passed the coffee shop where Kate and Wills used to meet for coffee.
At the end of the main street, Market Street, is the original golf course with a pro shop. There are actually pro shops all down the main street. I watched some of the guys play a few holes, and saw Swilcan Bridge, where all of the pros have their photos taken, and then had a browse in the museum. They had cool hand grips of the some of the pros, including Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus.
Jumping back on the bus we stopped at Pitlochry for lunch. There's a salmo ladder there, so I walked down to the river and watched some guys fly fishing for a while. I would love to dress like a fly fisherman every day! It started pouring when I was there though, so I left and walked back into the town and grabbed lunch in a cosy tea shop. We've been pretty lucky with weather so far. This was the first time we've been out of the bus when it's been raining.
After lunch, we headed to Loch Ness for a cruise and some Nessie spotting. It's much bigger than I thought, it's actually quite massive, and a lot longer too. I though it was a bit of a circle lake before. But looking from a Birdseye view, it's quite long. We also had a great view of Urquhart castle ruins.
When we got back, some wanted to go swimming in the loch. I was just getting over a cold, and the water was freezing, so I opted not to. But there were about 10-12 who did. It was pretty funny watching them.
Dinner was at the hotel. It was a pretty cozy hotel with tartan everywhere, a family run business. After dinner, we had a pub quiz in our pyjamas haha.
I never realised there are so many waterfalls in Scotland! They're literally everywhere. Big ones and little trail ones. Everywhere.
