Lederhosen.

I like the word lederhosen. So I used to its full potential today. I used it so much on the bus on the way to Nuremberg that it became a habit to say. I found myself walking around the town just saying it randomly. I even bought a little man wearing lederhosen that you can pull a string and his legs and arms move. I made up a little lederhosen song for him so I had a legitimate excuse for saying the word.
It was a long day driving but we arrived at Nuremberg, one of the main towns Hitler used to use for his rallies, at about lunchtime. We had free time here so mum and I went exploring. I've found I'm more in charge than mum is! I control the maps and know where to go, mum just tells me things haha. Although I don't even know where this tour goes or where we're heading now. Salzburg, I think. I had my first German pretzel (I can't say the word pretzel without pronouncing it in a German accent now. It makes me laugh in my head) with oats on top. I then bought the entire city out of gingerbread. And some apples from the markets. Oh yeah, there were more markets here today as well. We went up to the palace at the top of the city, just to take photos though, not to tour or anything. The town was larger than the others so far, and the architecture was like a typical German city. There were houses everywhere with the Snow White style wood panelling on the facade, and the town square included another massive church and other golden buildings.

We left after lunch heading to Salzburg. This was the longest driving day, so we arrived at Salzburg at about 8pm. We'd been driving through some pretty heavily flooded land. Not just near the Rhine, but all over Germany. Fields everywhere are just covered in muddy flood water.
It actually got dark in Salzburg pretty early, about 9:30pm. The hotel was in the newer part of town, but it was a bit dodgy. So we headed over to old Salzburg for dinner. We walked through the park where the Sound of Music was filmed and I sung some Julie Andrews songs for those around in my lovely trained singing voice. We walked all the way to the river pretty much separating the old and new sections. The bridge connecting the two gave a lovely view of Salzburg palace.
We just grabbed Subway for dinner on our way home.
