Praha.

We had the whole day in Prague today. The morning was spent on a walking tour, which was a nice change from bus tours. It turned out to be quite a fair bit of walking, but we went through the Jewish quarter, Charles bridge, Staromestske nam, Tyn's church and other sites, stopping to watch the Prague astronomical clock at midday. The churches and old buildings and history in the centre were amazing, as was Charles bridge.

In the afternoon, we opted to do the optional excursion of Medieval Prague. We visited Prague castle, with its cathedral. It was founded around 880, and was not only the seat of the head of state, the princes and later kings, but also the Prague bishop. The basilica of St. Vitus, in the castle walls, was built during the 10th century.

That night, most of the others went to an optional Czech dinner. Kendra, mum and I weren't going, so we organised a few others and went to the local what we thought was a pub, but once inside was more of a restaurant. The food was cheap, and some of the best I've ever eaten!
Afterwards, everyone else headed home and we went pub looking. Marks and Spencer was still open so we asked them where one was. Only the security guard spoke minimal English, so he translated broadly for the woman who thought we were asking if marks and Spencer's had a bar. HAHA. we finally sorted it out and were shown to a nice local, bar.
