Wien.

This was the first day we've spent the whole time in one place as we have two nights in Vienna. We had a city tour included this morning which was cool. We were taken into the old part of the city, which we had started to explore last night, but weren't sure what it was haha. First was a bus circle of the city, and then walking. We went passed and through some of the old statues and arches in Vienna (I can't actually the names of any of them, but I have heaps of photos haha). Finishing with a tour of St. Stephen's church, which was absolutely incredible inside! The stone carvings and paintings and pulpit were amazing!

As mum and I weren't (I just saw a rabbit eating carrot tops on a farm. Naughty!) doing the tour of Shchönbrunn palace, the summer residence of the Happsburg family, we had free time for about four and a half hours in the city. SHOPPING! I bought a new nose stud! Woohoo. We mainly just grabbed small souvenirs and dinner from the local supermarket to take back to the hotel, as tonight we're seeing an orchestra and won't really have time beforehand to grab anything. Speaking of orchestra, that night we went to see the Wiener Hofburg Orchestra (Hofburg palace is the winter residence of the Happsburgs, the family who used to rule most of Europe). It was pretty impressive. They played mostly Strauss, but there were also opera singers too. I think that's the first time I've ever heard opera singers in real life. They had incredible voices with such projection! One lady had a super loud voice that gave you goose bumps when she went full vocal.
Returning to the hotel at about 10:30pm, it was a relatively early night.
