I got a package! From Australia! It actually arrived last Wednesday, before I left for Swiss. But I was at uni and so a note was left that I could pick it up the next day at 10am, of course I couldn't as I had my medical in the morning and flights mid-afternoon. I didn't know what it was, so just left it. I went to pick ip up yesterday and it was from my family!! Yay! Inside was an easter bunny, 3 magazines, a tube of vegemite, some euros, and a flag which friends had signed! It was so exciting opening it! I think I'll travel to Turkey with my flag for a photo at Gallipoli!
The flag and vegemite!
Magazines and part of the easter bunny haha
On Tuesday, I had my end of year exam for linguistics. Despite not studying THAT much for it (half an hour?), I seemed to magically remember everything I needed to. I'll get my marks back next Tuesday so stay tuned for those... lol. That afternoon, I had my end of year french-english translation test, which also, was pretty good. I celebrated that night with starting Mad Men. It's such a great show, but not in an addictive way, so I'm not constantly worrying about what's going to happen to said character or something!
Yesterday we had out final english-french exam. We had to translate an entire page from Pride and Prejudice. OMG. There was nothing incredibly difficult about it, it was just really long and very tedious to go through.
Now, I only have one test left: geography. The one that I'm dreading the most, but it's not for another week yet, so there's plenty of time to study!
Other than work, I've been running a lot. I did 12.6km on Monday and 13.2km yesterday. My ankle was actually swollen yesterday afternoon when I finished, but it wasn't painful or anything, even to the touch. So I'm not sure why. But I'm only running every second day now, not every day, so that should give it a rest and time to un-swell before my next one!
Finish line for my runs
Oh! I think I wrote a little while ago about a planned trip to Croatia? That is no longer a go-ahead. It was a bit expensive to get to and as we were going in April-May, we weren't sure how warm the weather would be, and being a sailing trip, we wanted it to be warm! So, instead I've booked a solo trip to Turkey for that time! I'll be in Gallipoli for ANZAC day and then visits to Ephesus and Troy, and others lol! I'm so excited, I've always wanted to go to Turkey.
I've booked flights to arrive the night before the tour, and I'll then spend the night in Istanbul before I can check-in for my tour the following afternoon. There are many things to plan yet/pack, etc and I don't have long to sort them out - I'm flying out on the18th April, but once uni has finished (next wednesday), everything will start to get a move on!
